Things are Happening in Art!

Emily, Cendy, Ganelies

In Ms. Yorston Art classroom students look at art in a new perspective, using the color wheel. Learning about pigmentation, students identify primary, secondary, and tertiary colors. A fun project so far this year is making personalized pins made out of papier-mâché. Students also made 3-D hands, tracing their hands and then drawing curved lines over them to make them pop off the paper. And one of the most exciting things about art that every eighth grade student looks forward to is pottery; currently the students are making holiday projects, shaping, glazing, and firing their creations.
