Let’s Go Fly a Kite

By: Aaliyah R. and Selina B.

Mr. Police’s and Mrs. Bristow’s sixth grade students were able to enjoy the beautiful weather while they experimented with kites. The purpose of this unit was to relate the kite flying to weather and air mass movement. The experiments started on November 21 when the students learned how to make a kite and to understand the affect of weather and air mass on kites. The students used recycle materials such as paper, magazines, wraping paper, tissue paper, etc. to construct their kites. They used other objects as well. Then, it was time to test them. Watch the video to find out whether or not they were successful.
