Two RMS 6th Graders Publish Books

Recently, two 6th grade students published their own books with an on-line publishers. The following is an interview with sixth grader Lugenie R. whose book is titled It’s My Turn: A Collection of Poetry
Q: What made you decide to write this book?
A: When I was in 4th grade, I started writing, and I began writing my own poems.
Q: What inspired you to write this book?
A: I really don’t know.
Q: Tell us what your book is about.
A: It is about a collection of poems that I wrote.
Q: How did you feel when you got your book published?
A: I was happy.
Q: Do you want to continue as a writer?
A: Yes, because it will help me have a great future.

Ashley, another sixth grader also published her book, Stories Around the World, on the same site as Lugenia. Her book is a collection of stories based on her favorite subject, ancient history. Both of these young ladies were in Mr. LaVogue’s World Cultures class. He was influential in encouraging these girls to publish their works.
