RMS Goes to Staggered Lunches
Lunch time in any middle school is always a challenge and an adventure, but when one is trying to feed over 1200 students in three thirty-minute blocks, it becomes a nightmare. This is why the administration recently made the decision to change to a staggered lunch schedule. Mrs. Killeen has been wanting to try this schedule for the last few years, and she finally go the go-ahead this year.
Under this new arrangement, classes are continually rotating in and out of the cafeteria every ten minutes, similar to a restaurant seating schedule. So far, it was worked extremely well. Students are not having to wait in lines as long as they had to before the new schedule; therefore, they have more time to eat and to socialize with their friends. Additionally, the cafeteria is less-croweded and seating is more ample. It is a win-win situation for everyone.
