Publix Donates School Supplies
By: Tautiyauna P. and Selina B.
Friday, August 26th, Roosevelt Middle School received donations from seventy participating Publix stores. The donation drive was organized by Mrs. Clemons and the Big Brothers and Sisters program here at Roosevelt Middle. Any student is eligible to receive the donated supplies. Please see Mrs. Clemons in room 6-206 if you are in need of supplies.
Big Brothers and Big Sisters is a mentoring program for middle school students. Students have the opportunity to work under the guidance of a mentor and earn job experience. Students are selectedto participate based on their grades and teacher recommendation. Although Big Brothers and Big sisters has existed in Marting County for the past few years, there were no branches of the organization in any Palm Beach County Schools. Last year, Big brothers and sisters chose Roosevelt Middle to start a program, and RMS is the only school in Palm Beach County that has the Big brothers and sisters program.
