Space Shuttle Descent May Be Seen Over Florida!

Florida residents may get a rare opportunity to view the Space Shuttle as it descends into Cape Canaveral for one of the fleet’s final landings before the shuttle program is retired forever. Targeted touchdown is 8:48 a.m EST. The shuttle will be visible through much of the US starting in the Pacific and traveling through the US Heartland.

It’s hard to believe that it has been 40 years since those dramatic words, “Houston, We have a problem were uttered by the Apollo 13 Commander some 200,000 miles away from earth — on its mission to the moon. Here’s some footage from that day!
