I have come to believe that handbell ringing is an addiction. I wasn’t excited about handbells when I first heard them. When I was first asked to teach handbells, I wasn’t enthusiastic, either, partly because I felt like I didn’t have enough experience to teach it. (It’s like I wrote in the earlier post, about how trying new things can be scary.) But then I started ringing! Now, I look forward to my handbell classes every day.
I know that for some of you, handbells was not your first choice of elective. I’m curious: what was your first impression? Has your opinion changed? If you have an opportunity to continue to ring when you leave Wellington Landings, how likely are you to do so?
