For those of you in Beginning Handbells, here is a link to listen to Fantasia for Handbells.  When you get to the link page, click on the yellow handbells symbol, and you should  be able to hear the piece.  You will notice that the actual speed is much faster than we are currently playing it!

Do you think it helps to hear a recording of a new song before you begin working on it?  Back in the Dark Ages, when I was in school, we usually didn’t hear a piece, or have rehearsal and accompaniment CDs.  Do you think it helps you to learn the music faster?  Or do you think you would learn it more thoroughly by having to analyze it and sight sing it on your own?
