Together We Can Change The World
by Anush P.

Together we can
Give each other a helping hand
United and free
That’s what we should be

Helping each other in need
And for the homeless we feed
Stopping evil deeds
Like the world’s a garden, and we have to weed

But to achieve that dream
We must be worthy deemed
By doing good deeds
And planting trees and seeds

From recycling to turning off unused lights
Will help make our future happy and bright
‘Cause the only way for us to be truly free
Is for the land and ocean to be clean as far as we can see

For the world should be a better place
Instead of us making it wasteful space
So you can make Earth a better world
Instead of making it dead and cold

    From the moment my pen touches paper, I unleash power.

    Each word is born in my mind, meticulously chosen,

    So, together, they will be able to transform.


    For, from the pages of the past

    Will rise the foundations of the future.


    Lying in their depths is harnessed energy,

    Just waiting to be released.


    Letters, words, sentences,

    Like rockets on their launch pads,

    Anticipating their liftoff.

    So they can find their targets and use their power

    To bring out smiles in the sullen,

    Induce tears in the immovable,

    Excite the lethargic,

    Calm the angry,

    Bring hope to the dejected,

    And remorse to the heartless.


    Changing one person,

    Changing one community,

    Changing one nation,

    Changing the world.


    My words make a difference,

    And so does their creator.

  • I Am an Artist


    Armed with pens and pencils

    Crayons and markers

    Watercolors, oil pastels, acrylics

    Charcoal and tempera

    I set out on my journey

    Into a different world

    A world where the sky is brilliant shades of blue

    Indigo

    Cobalt

    Cerulean

    All meshing together in a seamless patchwork

    A world where flying horses stampede past

    On wings of flame

    Under a sizzling sun of cornflower yellow

    With the grass like forest green carpet

    Beneath my feet

    A world where logic is overruled by color

    And reason lay pure possibility

    Apples the size of soccer balls

    Hang from giant trees with leaves of polka-dotted pink

    Bubbling rivers in a shade of gold

    Abound with leaping purple goldfish

    A world where time has no jurisdiction

    And limitations make no difference

    A world where I can set my imagination free

    To run wild

    On silver breaths of wind

    I pick up my pencil

    And begin to draw
