Technology Final Exam Essay by Katie A., p4Posted by: Mr. Goldstein in Design Process, Invention, Video, WritingKatie A. Working together for our project was a wondrous experience. My teammates and I laughed our lungs out when we were just coming up with half-brained, often hilariously silly, ideas for an invention. Sierra and Kelly were the ones who came up with it, the simple pencil-drawings that led to our entire project. Hsiao-mei and I produced our script, along with props and ideas (again, most of them ridiculous) whilst the others wrote each and every thing down. A project pulled out of the pure effort of teamwork, we knew our labor would not be wasted, that our idea would unanonymously be rewarded with no less then the best of them. Our glorified inventions are the Undo Button and Sun-in-a-bottle. Spouted out of pure lunacy, the Sun-in-a-bottle has an unusual creation. We were contemplating Sierra’s exquisite tan, when it was suggested that we should make something that would give people her ability to be tan both where and whenever they pleased. As such, Sun-in-a-bottle was created to not only give others sun-kissed skin, but to also give them an artificial sun of sorts during winter and rainy seasons. I mused it would be vastly popular in Seattle. The Undo Button was a fail-safe of sorts. For separate price it was determined that it would be sold with the Sun-in-a-bottle. The object of such an invention was so that if you got a sun-burn from the former, it would be cleared away as you were sent back in time to redo the moment. It works for other things as well. Such as: if you were mugged, you could go back in time and stop that, or an accident of some other sorts. These two seemingly harmless products work together to defy the laws of nature. Creating a thumbnail for our project was relatively simple. After all, all we had to do was take a glimpse in the crack of the hard shell that held the utter chaos and possibly lewd turmoil that is a teenage girl’s mind. We made it just as we made our inventions; out of jokes and humor. Designing our poster was the same, we spent our time smiling and joking in mild banter as we moved our pencils, markers, and crayons to form large, brightly coloured bubble letters. Our actual drawings may not have been that great, but thinking of all the hard work and laughing that went into it, it was, to us, the best in the room. Our script was interesting to make. We merely wrote down each and every thing that we thought we should say. It was a group experience, although being made by teenagers of the feminine variety, it sounded a bit…odd at the beginning. The script itself was not made to be taken seriously at all. However, we weren’t joking when it came to the matter of rehearsing the script. All previous giggles came to halt, with only a small lingering trace of a smile in our eyes giving hint that there had been any at all. Now let’s get on to the script itself. The plot of story was about our protagonist, Kelly, going to the grocery. When she exits shop, she runs into a mysterious stranger (Sierra) in the alley. Upon meeting the stranger, she is given a bag for free. Kelly takes the bag and runs off into the sunset. She wakes up the next day sun-burnt from the Sun-in-a-bottle (Which, along with the Undo Button, was inside the bag.) The stranger from the alley pops up behind her from the bathroom, telling her she messed up, what gave her sunburn, and what else was in the bag. Kelly then fainted. A Sun-in-a-bottle representative pops up and explains the products. The end. As for the shots, we used almost all of them, except for the extreme close up. The only problem we encountered when filming our videos was when the bell rang and we had to stop production in order to not get any kids in the shot. To edit our video, we put it on Windows Movie Maker. We then cut out and added bits and pieces and music to our film, and it was ready. Once that was done, we uploaded it to our class’s blog. Working as a team, we were extremely efficient. We got the job done faster. We did not encounter any problems aside from the occasional panting of air whenever we got breathless from laughing. Which was often. In conclusion, I learned how to work better in a group, which to me is a huge lesson. Our invention is the sun in the bottle and undo button . The sun in the bottle is artificial sun and to make it work you open the bottle . The undo button undoes things , your mistakes really . This is by Sierra A. Katie A. Kelly C. Hsiaomei C. period 4 .

Technology Final Exam Essay, by Peter T., p4Posted by: Mr. Goldstein in Design Process, Invention, Video, WritingPeter T. Final Exam Essay In class we did an invention project. My invention for the invention project is the Bacon Blaster. We came up with this invention when my group and I were all hungry waiting for lunch as we were thinking of ideas. Then we went off topic and started talking about our favorite food; we all agreed that bacon was our favorite food and that everything should be bacon. Thus the Bacon Blaster was made. After we had out invention made up in our minds it was time for us to make a poster for our invention to be hanged in the classroom. First we made a sketch of what the Bacon Blaster what looked like on a piece of paper. Once we all agreed on a design; we then made the poster on a bigger piece of paper also on the paper we put a price, what the invention did and how it worked and why someone should buy it, and a big title of the invention. After we made the poster for the invention we made a script. The script was a pain to make because we all couldn’t agree on a layout for the script and once we had one. One of the people who had to play a certain role in the script didn’t want to. Anyways when we finally finished the script and got everyone’s role and lines set together. We had to go record it with the camera provided to us from the teacher. We had many problems with the recording. First we had someone in the background of the sound yelling random words and phrases. Then we had a problem with some people’s roles and lines and had to rewrite the script. Once that was settled we had to go take different camera angles when video taping which was even more of a pain because of other people continuously getting in the way of the camera. However some of the shots we took while taking the video was an extreme close up, pan in, and tilt. Some of the shots we will do differently will be to have a less crowded place to take the video. Finally after many tries we got all the shots we needed with the camera. After we got all the video footage we needed we had to edit it all together. We had to mute the sound in one clip because of someone yelling that we picked up in the background. Then we had to add in some sound into the clip that we muted because it sounded weird without any sound. After the video was all done being edited we posted it on the classroom blog. In general, my group worked great as a team; everyone did their part. Some of the benefits of working as a team are that we had to do less work as a single person, but as a whole group we did the same amount of work. Some of the problems we had working as a team is communication problems. To fix this we yelled at each other. The thing I enjoyed the much during this project is that we got to make a poster. What went well with this project was the poster because we had very few dilemmas with it. From doing this project I learned that working as a team is fun but harder then working alone. When you are alone you know the whole layout and everything you’re going to be doing; however while in a group you have to explain to different people your ideas and thoughts and have to fight over with them on who is right and who’s idea the group will be doing.

Technology Final Exam Essay by Rodrigo S., p5Posted by: Mr. Goldstein in Design Process, Invention, Video, WritingMy team and I had a bit of trouble creating an idea. We finally all agreed on rocket shoes. We named it Air-Force 2. I started to sketch a drawing of my shoe, which is actually how we got the idea of rocket shoes. The names of the shoes I own are Air-Force 1. This made us realize the name has to do with flying so we decided to make rocket shoes to with the name Air-force 2. The sketch came out great and then I redrew the shoe on to the poster and the rest of my team colored it in red and white. Air-Force 2 cost $259.99 the reason for buying the shoes were that man can finally fly without a plane. For our script we decided to make it like an infomercial and spoke really fast giving facts about the shoes. We had a problem when filming because we ran out of film. Other than that we had no problems we just got a new sd card. Then we edited a picture of me flying across our schools courtyard where we also filmed. I filmed Silvia, David, Lucy, and Dylan cheering me on while I was flying. Then Mr.Goldstein helped our group edit a photo of me doing a Superman pose with rockets and then made it so that I look like I am flying across the school courtyard. It was difficult working as a group, we all debated on what to film or what parts not to film. The biggest problem was when we had to film me jumping like super man, I wasn’t allowed to jump so that’s were the animation came in. Other than that we had fun and got along.

Technology Final Exam Essay by Stephanie B., p2Posted by: Mr. Goldstein in Design Process, Invention, Video, WritingTechnology 1st Final Exam – Essay Imagine the future as a ball of clay, and imagine making something from it. Well, it’s only nine weeks into school and kids are already molding the future. In Mr. Goldstein’s technology class (period 2) kids are putting their hands down and creating inventions that no one ever thought possible. Everyone in the class broke into groups and started brainstorming their hardest. When everyone was done brainstorming, they would then draw the thumbnail, draw the poster, film the movie, and upload it onto the computer (Windows Movie Maker and the class blog). Our class is quite a bunch! For starters, everyone was in groups of four or five except my group. My group of people consists of only me and Gillian, we were slower than all the other groups but our ideas were amazing (courtesy our imagination). Together we decided on the Zapper 5001. The Zapper 5001 is a little camera that can zap you into any video game on your computer and even your television. Gillian and I came up with the invention by stating the first thing that came to our minds; we would then write it down in our notebooks then when we started drawing, we chose what to put on our thumbnails. When it came time for our poster, we started drawing pretty fast but we soon fell behind because of the half days and religious holidays. Our poster was filled with color; you could look at it and never see a white spot. We wrote a lot about the invention too; we wrote how the invention could help you, how it could make life easier and how much it cost ($5000.01!!!). We would state how pressing buttons were boring, how all you have to do was press a button and you could get in the game, and on and on and on. I honestly think that the poster was the hardest part. And that was only the beginning! Secondly, we began to write our script and draw our storyboards. Our script was hilarious but we had errors in the process so we rewrote it in a calmer version. It was about how a girl (Gillian) was tired of play the same old video game and that she wanted to actually be in the game; and then I come in and say that she can with the Zapper 5001. She would then change into a Harry Potter outfit and go outside and say that she was in a Harry Potter game. Finally the script will end with everyone saying how much they liked the invention. After we wrote the script, we drew a quick (but messy) storyboard with stick figures jumping in the air or wearing little hats. We thought about making the Harry Potter scene outside and the Zapper 5001 advertisement inside. This was one of the hardest parts because we encountered so many errors. This step was probably longer than the first step. Third, Gillian and I had to memorize all our lines and shoot the video. We had so many difficulties. Some of them were that I lost my props or that the background sounds were so noisy. The camera also never turned in on the right time so we had to time the video correctly. And the most annoying perk was that no one could hold the cameras for us so we had to take the videos separately with only one person in the video at a time. We tried moving away to avoid the sounds, we did time the camera correctly, but we just couldn’t get two people in the video at once so we just made do with what we had. The next time we ever have a project like this, I will make sure that our group has at least three people and that we stay out of noisy places. Who knew just one simple video could cause so much trouble! Lastly, we edited, shared, and worked together. When we edited our video we first uploaded the videos and photos to the computer and then put it on Windows Movie Maker and put them in order. Then we added titles and credits. After adding titles and credits; we made transitions and that is where the errors happened. When we added the transitions, the transition cut part of our movie off so we decided not to have any on the important spots. When our video was perfect, we shared it by posting it onto our classroom blog. We went on to the website (http://weblogs.pbspaces.com/mrgolstein) and then posted it on. Gillian and I worked pretty well as a team because it’s not easy to do a giant project with only two people. We had some ups and downs though; like, when Gillian was absent I had to do the poster all by myself which slowed us down. Another one was that I lost my props so we didn’t have all the humor we wanted to be in the video. But we went on as fast as we could and we edited our scripts so that the missing props won’t cause a problem. The ups were that we could work two times as fast as one person could and that we had a good process going (I would come up with the ideas and Gillian would write it down or vice versa). I really enjoyed being with my best friend, Gillian; and expressing my creativity. I thought that the poster look magnificent, all the details were perfect, the words were spelled correctly, and that was the only thing that we didn’t have errors on. The ending took a lot of work, but it was worth it, everything turned our perfect. To sum it all up, Gillian and I made a project called the Zapper 5001. We went throught so many processes to make this successful. We made thumbnails, drew a poster, wrote scripts, and filmed movies. I learned to not underestimate things on how easy they look or sound and that success comes out of time and hard work. Now all we have to do is let this masterpiece dry and make its way into the world just like the future that our minds just molded.

Technology Final Exam, by Joshua R. p6Posted by: Mr. Goldstein in Design Process, Invention, Video, WritingTECHNOLOGY FINAL EXAM BY: JOSHUA R. My name is Josh R. for my invention project I invented Horcrux Hunt. Horcrux Hunt is a board game. In Horcrux Hunt you get transported in the world of Harry Potter. In this game you have to search for Voldemorts 7 Horcruxs to destroy and kill him. The definition for a Horcrux – Dark Magic which is injected into objects which you hide, to separate your soul into seven pieces. Here are some of the reasons of how are Harry Potter fan group created this awesome invention/Board Game. In our group we all liked Harry Potter so we all thought it would be an amazing idea to make an Invention involving Harry Potter. At first we couldn’t think of any ideas but then we thought wouldn’t it be a spectacular idea to create a board game that transports you into the world of Harry Potter. In my group we all knew how Harry Potter killed Voldemort so we thought why dont we make a game that you actually get to kill Voldemort yourself instead of Harry Potter getting all the kudos. In our script we made it a message from yours truly Harry Potter in which he shows up in a crystal ball from the human world and sends a message for all muggles. In this game the muggles can feel the power to be a potentially powerful wizard who gets the opportunity in the virtual world to kill Voldemort. In our script we liked the way we worded it because we tried to make a mix of human words and words from the world of wizardry. This was so muggles can comprehend with such words. We all had a very long complicated story board for this invention. This was very complicated for our group because we all had a very complex invention which non Harry Potter fans/ muggles wouldn’t understand. Our story board had 5 to 6 slides. The story board took us a half an hour to forty five minutes. When our group shot our video we kept having to restart because there was too much background noise. On top of all this shenanigans I kept laughing. Our camera person kept going off into space and wandering off. We all mostly had trouble getting it so I could see the script without it hitting the lens of the camera when we were recording our video. To stop these problems we kept waiting for everybody else to finish so there was the least bit of background noise. After that we also waited till we were calmed down and serious so we wouldn’t keep ruining the video by laughing. When we edited our video we took our time. This process took either one or two days I don’t remember. I picked out our groups music because we couldn’t find Hedwigs theme on royalty free music so we had to improvise.. When we designed our script it went well because it took us five minutes and it came out great. When are group was writing the script we thought of using Harry Potter because he is the main actor in the Harry Potter movie series. We didn’t add Ron or Hermione because it was to much to do and we would have to buy more costumes so we decided just to do Harry Potter. The best part of the project was by far are group. In our group we worked together because it was a girl who I know from the temple and soccer and the other girl is in three of my classes. I actually really enjoyed this project and I hope that we do this project again if i’m in technology.

Claymation Project Discussion – Jessica G., Aryanna H., Lily N., Ivet B.Posted by: Mr. Goldstein in Claymation, Design Process, WritingTechnology Exam Essay Making my Claymation was very interesting. Making the Claymation was my kind of thing. I got to make the background, shoot pictures, and post it on the vodcast server. I like to create such fun projects, making the Claymation was probably the best project I’ve ever made. I had so much fun from beginning to the very end. My group’s Claymation is about, Romeo and Juliet but here is a twist. You think you know Juliet as a sweet or good princess but his time she has let her true self come out. Juliet is a wild dancer to the song “Black and Yellow”. While making the claymation we had to make clay clothes for Romeo and Juliet, make a scenery/background, shoot pictures, make titles and credits, find effects and sounds, record sounds, and post it on the vodcast server. This creation required hard work and effort. Everybody wanted to do this, make that, and design. It was very hard for our group to figure out who did what. When we were shooting pictures we used a wire called fire wire to connect to the computer. We shot so many pictures it was amazing. We shot three to four pictures for each move we made with Romeo and Juliet. When we finished shooting pictures we imported all of the pictures to iMovie, that way we can put sound, titles, and effects. After we finished and posted it to the vodcast server, the vodcast server is a special website used by the district, we also posted it to Imagine; Imagine is a special website used by Mr. Goldstein to put our creations on display. I really enjoyed everything we did to make the creation happen. I personally think most things went well because we worked hard. There were a couple of problems with cooperating but we pretty much covered it. My group over all had tough times but, we got through them and made a great movie. Something I would like to improve is the way we presented the movie like, I would make the movie with story pages so it looks like your reading while watching the movie. I’d also like to change the ending when Juliet is dancing and she completely becomes a ball. I didn’t really think that was good. I think that the beginning of the project should be like all fairytales begin “once upon a time”. The movie was definitely spontaneous. All of my other projects haven’t been as cool as the Claymation. Technology class is full of life experiences that are very valuable during life, especially if you want to be a director or anyone who wants to make a movie, or even if you want to be a technology teacher like Mr. Goldstein. One day when I want to make a movie I’ll always remember what I did in Mr. Goldstein’s class. Lily N. Technology has so many fun things to do. In technology class, we had been doing so many projects. The best project we ever did was the claymation project. Claymation is when you make a figure and take a picture then move the model then take a picture again. One minute claymation movie is about six hundreds pictures! My group and I made a claymation movie about Romeo and Juliet. I was the one who created this fairy tale. The reason why I chose this is because I had a dream about this wonderful story. But what if this fairy tale turns upside down? How do you feel when Juliet and Romeo start hugging? Then everything happens underground. Juliet starts going crazy by singing Black and Yellow. When she starts dancing, Romeo’s heart breaks into pieces. All of us were working as a team. The benefits of working as a team were working together. There were a few problems with the background and the model’s cloths. Then one of our group starts printing a background and all of us took a vote again to see how the model’s cloths look like. There was a problem when or how we get Juliet’s cloths flying. This group never gives up, we begin to take turns and helping each other. If you want to make a claymation movie, you need to know the steps! The first steps are choosing a story. If you don’t have story you can’t make a claymation movie. The second steps are making a model out of clay. When the model is finished you move the model and then take a picture and it keeps going until you want to stop. The third steps are sound effects. If you are done, the movie has to have sound. To make it humorous or to tell what is going on. Then the last steps are putting it to a movie and put it on a website. This project is a lot of fun. I hope all of us enjoy this claymation project because it is very cool when it’s works. There was one thing that was challenging for me were how to make Juliet’s cloths fly. But our teacher has fishing line so that we can attach the clay then takes a picture. A lot of things went well like make the model walks or making Juliet dancing but it was very fun doing this claymation project. If I ever do this claymation project, I would be very exited and then start making a story. I don’t think our claymation need to add anything. I just hope that I can do this again. Ivet B. My group’s project was about finding out the true side of Juliet where the truth was so thrilling and weird. The way me and my group thought of this idea is when we watched all of the claymations about a mouth ago, then we thought of something more weird and funny. We sorted everything and figured it out in advance. We got our idea by thinking of what could be weird and funny–something you would never think would happen– so we turned a romantic story into a funny comedy of romance and dance. Our team worked pretty well for the most part we did not play and worked hard so we finished first. The benefits were that we got the learn how to work together but some problems were everybody wanted to be a main character or someone important but at the end we all got a important part to do. The steps we used were first figure out what to do then make the characters and sets then we started stopmotion animation to start making the movie at the end we add the noise and post it on the blog. What I loved about the clay mation was the sound the sound effects also I was Romeo so I got to talk in it. What I found challenging was we were not agreeing on the ideas. I think the sound went well because it was really funny and because the sound helped you concentrate and helped the group not fight and the group take the tension away. If I could I would improve the people in the group because everybody wanted to be in power. We needed some weakness in the group and all the people in the group being in power made the group fight. Aryanna H. For our claymation we wanted to do something funny but classy at the same time and one of the group members said why don’t we do Romeo and Juliet. We decided on that and we said, “How can we do something funny in Romeo and Juliet?” Then that’s when we decided that we could make her start to dance to a gang song with the iPod and we all agreed. We kind of did to things we had our idea before we started but as we went we did a couple of different things. Our group had a couple of issues because every single person in our group liked to be in control. So we had problems with who did what at what times. We worked out our problems by deciding what’s best for the group. We also did the show of hands game where whatever idea had the most people going with it that’s wht we did. The steps in creating our project was that in the beginning we said that “we weren’t gonna take any breaks” so we started off trying to finish all of the clay people as good as we could get them. We tried to make our clay people look as realistic as we could get them. Then after we finished the clay people we moved on to the background and props. We assigned the people in our group to get certain things like cardboard, paper, background paper, and the castle. And everyone in the group did a fantastic job with the claymation. Once we got the claymation together we had to decide on which music we were going to have Juliet dance to. We picked the gang song Black and Yellow. After we did that we were ready to shoot and have a successful claymation. The thing that I most enjoyed was when we were actually shooting the claymation. Because we had to figure out how to make them look like they were actually moving. Sometimes it would look so funny and we would laugh so hard. Because it looked like he was floating, then taking a step. Another thing I enjoyed was listening to music because when we fought it took the tension away. The thing I found most challenging was when we would move the people and put them in a box and when we would come back the next day we would have to try to get our whole set up back in the same position the next day. Another hard thing was that ouir cameras didn’t connect every day so we would have to prop the set up high some days and use the built- in iSight. The thing I would improve on if I did this again was that we need to be more organized with our personal items and not have a team that has every one that wants to be in power because some of the arguing was to much to handle. Another thing I would have done differentlt or improved was that I would have spent more time on the clay people themselves and made the background look so much more realistic. I would have liked to make the project longer and it have more meaning to it because I felt like we kind of rushed being the first ones that finished!!! Jessica G. The past few weeks Mr.Goldstein’s classes have been working on a project called claymation. There are a lot of reasons why Mr.Goldstein or any teacher would assign this project. Individually, each group took there time to think about what they wanted their claymation to be about. Some people had made up a project as they worked. While, other groups had everythinhg planned out. There were groups that worked peacefully while other groups worked roughly. Challenges were applied. Claymation is about teamwork, creativity, and the creation of an istop motion video. Teamwork had applied the most in claymation because in each group was about three to four people, if one peer disagreed then, the team would not be able to do an Idea that most wanted. Creativity wasn’t a challenge for me but for my group this was. My group wasn’t very artistic so they were glad to have me help them out. My group had decided to do a project based on Romeo and Juliet. In the beginning my whole team was sheepish to say their idea but as my team was following up, then we started coming up with the ideas and we had aggreed to the idea about Romeo and Juliet at there kissing scene and juliet starts dancing to music. My group had a wonderful, exciting, brillant idea and we had added a few things as we came closer to our kissing scene. So we had added ideas and made things up as we worked on the project. There were a lot of ideas that overflowed our minds but obviosley we couldn’t do them all so we sticked to some ideas. But how did we not argue about it to much? Well my team had tooken a vote and if one student disagreed to an idea then we hadn’t done an idea. Some ideas triggered the project and we had to delete some scenes and be kind to the person that created the idea and not be very rude about an added idea. I’d say that my team worked very well together as a team. There were benefits to working in a team. For example we had to be kind, respectful with ideas, and try not missing school very often. There were some problems my team had encountered during the project. When my group had to vote on an idea and not everyone liked a idea, the person that created the idea would get upset and try explaining that it was a good idea when it really wasn’t. My group worked out problems by putting the ideas in but after showing a person that an idea was wrong to put in. There had been several steps that each group had to do during the creation of the projest. The first step had been the creating of the project. When we had decided to do the kissing scene of Romeo and Juliet. The second step was to get our clay and figure out if there would be enough clay. Which we figured out that we didn’t have enough clay. Third, in our group we had to split up money so that someone in the group could buy the clay for and equal share. Fourth, we had to start creating our claymation figures like the character “romeo” and our character “Juliet”. Fifth, We had two people create the props like the castle, background, and floor setting. My job was to create Juliet, and make the floor props like the pond. Then lat we had tooken pictures of the set picture after picture. We had to move each object very little to have our project look like a show is going out. There had been so many things my group enjoyed to do during the project. The fun part was creating our characters. We had to create clothes and the 3-d image. My favorite part was creating the nose of Juliet because for me it was fun to push upward on the face to creat a bump to form. So, I had really enjoyed doing that. But, there had been challenges that had occurred during the claymation. There was a point where my group couldnt figure out how to use the camera but then we had figured it out on our own. There were days when the project was going by perfectly. Right after the fixing of the camera was simple. All we had to do was take pictures. So taking the pictures went by very well because it was simple. If I were to be assigned this project again I would improve a few things. I would improve fairness to everyone like, allowing all ideas come in. This project had been a fun, entertaning project. I thank Mr. Goldstein for all that he had helped our group with.

Claymation Project Discussion by Bryan C.Posted by: Mr. Goldstein in Claymation, Design Process, WritingBryan C. The past few weeks, Mr. Goldstein’s class has been working on a claymation. A Claymation is a short 1 minute movie using clay figures. For every second of filming, you take a picture. In class, there are 8 Mac computers. For each computer there is a group. There were 8 groups. We worked with many programs. For example, iStopMotion Express 2, iMovie, and GarageBand. iStopMotion Express 2 is where we took the pictures of the Claymation. After iStopMotion Express 2, we exported the movie to iMovie. In iMovie, you can add special effects. You can also add credits to your movie. After doing that, we exported the movie to GarageBand. GarageBand is where we added sound and music to our Claymation. You can select different types of beats or music. There are many choices. Our Claymation is about a family of three Gummy-Bears playing mini-golf. There was a papa bear, mama bear, and little bear. We came up with the idea by thinking about things that would be interesting and entertaining. We had miniature golf courses set up. Our group worked great together as a team. We all did what we were supposed to do and we never just sat around doing nothing. Working as a team has shown me that you have to trust each other. When you have trust, you can do things easier. We all decided on the name of the Claymation with no arguing. It’s hard to say that there were problems with my team because there really wasn’t. If there were, we would solve them by looking at an alternative and using that instead. The thing I most enjoyed during the project was using iStopMotion Express 2. I never even knew there was something like that before I used it in Mr. Goldstein’s class. It is amazing how you can see every little tenth of a second in a frame. The cool part of iStopMotion Express 2 was connecting the video camera to the computer. There is a two-way wire that you plug into both the computer and the video camera. It is called “firewire”. What I found challenging was keeping the camera in place. We kept the camera on a stack of textbooks. If someone was shaking the table or even just having there arm on the table, the camera would probably shake or fall. Then we would have to put it back up again and try to get it in the exact same spot as it was in the last time. Also, the camera would do an auto power-off. Which was very annoying when you were moving each clay figure. I think the GarageBand went well. We all agreed on the types of music that were put together. We went through GarageBand swiftly and smoothly. If I did this again, I think I would improve our special effects in iMovie. I think our Claymation was excellent, but I would of liked to use more special effects. The special effects on iMovie are terrific and I think that we could of used more. Also, I think we could try harder to keep hands or other objects out of the Claymation. Of course, this is our first time, but if we did it again I think it would be better if the Claymation had not distractions. I would like to give a special thanks to Mr.Goldstein for helping me and letting us use these awesome Apple computers. Also, thank you for showing us how to do things we didn’t even know how to do before we cam to technology. The Claymation project was a great experience and I would definitely want to do it again.
