Imagine it, make it happen! A blog about creativity, ideas and technology, by Mr. Goldstein and the teachers and students at Omni Middle School, Boca Raton, FL. A Project Smart Project.
My Claymation is about worms getting chased around by balls. We came up with the idea when Remy said that we should do something simple. We just went along doing what ever we wanted. It worked well, having fun with my friends. We worked well as a team. One benefit was getting done faster. One problem was agreeing on the idea. We took a vote. When we voted we all voted for the same cause. Molding the clay was fun in the project. We molded balls and worms. One thing I found challenging was getting along with each other. But in the end we all got along. The claymation came out great we had great ideas, in one scene a cat came out and left a red blob which he then ate. I had a great time I enjoyed the project the best part was molding the clay. We all had a great time.
Technology students work in groups to brainstorm ideas, create figures, creatures and objects in clay, and make them come to life through stop motion animation. We used iStopMotion Express 2, an Apple computer, and a video camera, shooting one frame at a time.
Our claymation is about famous people dancing on Sesame Street. We have Beyonce, Micheal Jackson, David Artchula and Brittney Spears dancing on Sesame Street. We didn’t come up with the idea in advance. All of us figured it out at the starting point. We put all our ideas together as we worked. It was fun because each time I had an idea someone had something better. How we came up with the idea is each person wanted someone famous in the video. So we all picked one person we wanted. And we do not know who came up with the idea but we just wanted them to dance on Sesame Street. Our team really worked good together. I like working together as a team because you don’t have to work by yourself. We got into some problems because we did not want all the same thing but we all wanted the video to look good. We worked out our problems so that we all picked one thing and if one person did this the other did that. My favorite part of the video is making the people. I found making the video as long as 60 seconds was hard because it seemed to long for me. I think making the ideas for the Claymation went well. I would work on making the video longer.
In technology, we made a claymation. Our claymation was about two guys who get kidnapped by aliens. We had a basic idea, then changed and built off of it as we went on. Our ideas were triggered by problems and what we need to do to fix them. Our group worked as a team. This was beneficial to the project because we get more accomplished in a smaller amount of time. Some problems that we encountered were that it would require to much clay to create a bear to eat the men, and that we didn’t have enough footage to cover a minute. We worked out our problems by using aliens instead of a bear, and we filled up the extra space by turning one of the guys into a tree. I enjoyed playing with the clay because it is fun to mold. I found that coming up with ideas for the claymation the most challenging fit because it is hard to find a story that all fits together. I think that what went well was the time used because we finished days before anyone else. I would improve by not letting the clay mix so that the characters didn’t get dirty in between shots. I think our project was extremely successful because it was good enough to air on the morning announcements. I love technology!
Our claymation is about a astronaut who goes to mars and finds himself in the middle of a fight with an alien and they pull out there light sabers and it’s a fight to the fittest. The astronaut runs back to his rocket and leaves mars as fast as he can so he can escape certain death that lies ahead. While in space he is finding himself colliding with the alien UFO. The astronaut finds himself flying in space to die. We came up with this idea while sitting in class and debating whether we should do a football game or a growing plant. Then the idea came to me and there it was the first skit of The Fifth Kind. We got our ideas to work by just brain storming the ideas as we filmed our claymation. What triggered them is creativity and just talking and brain storming. Our team worked very well as a team we had a few arguments about our claymation and how it should me made and filmed but all in all I think we did a sensational job. Some benefits about working as a team is that we can have four people doing four things at a time, I would think of new ideas to put in the claymation, Ainis would be the camera man, Jose would move the clay, and Scott would make the clay. We encountered just one problem how would we make the credits we solved this by just randomly picking a credit to use. I enjoyed tieing the string to the clay and filming the movement of the clay and the challenge of trying to keep the clay in the right spot so that we can take the picture and continue filming. I mostly found challenging moving the clay and the pressure of if we move the clay we will have to restart the claymation. I think what went well is the clay filming and moving the clay to the right spot and take the picture so we can continue filming to six hundred pictures. What I think I would improve on if I did it again I would improve on the film making and the scenery because we used a red folder as the surface of mars and I think we should of did a green screen. There’s nothing else I would like to add I think we did a great job.
My group’s claymation is about a skydiver doing amazing tricks in the air. In the end, he lands in the ocean and swims. We got this idea by starting out with a simple plan, and as we worked we came up with better ideas to improve our claymation. Our ideas triggered when we began the video, and over time we thought about more incredible ideas. My group worked great together. We all had a specific part. The benefits of working as a team was we got to complete our assignment and have fun with it at the same time. However, we had one big problem! Some members of my group wanted to change their job. We solved this problem by switching roles to make the whole group happy. I enjoyed making the characters out of clay. It was fun because I was able to use my imagination. I thought it was challenging when we had to make a video lasting one minute. It took us a long time, but in the end it was worth the hard work. I enjoyed watching our video.
My claymation is about a guy that had to fight an alien and save the day and snakes and a lot of other creatures. An there are a lot of different characters and more it was a fun claymation and it was cool too.
One of our partner thought of the idea because he thought it would be very cool to make a guy that have’s to fight an alien. He thought of a very good idea and I liked it a lot it was a pretty smart idea my partner thought of. We thought of different things as we went.
My partners and I thought of a perfect thing that we can do for our clay after every Sean. Me and the rest of the group triggered the good ideas.
My group and I worked together a little good because sometimes we get mad at each other sometimes. We had some good times on our claymation and I liked that a lot. We had some problems like arguing and yelling. And we also worked out the problems by coming down.
I liked when I created so of the characters. And when I video taped the different claymations. I had a very fun time making the claymation.
A thing that found a little challenging was working together. It was a little tricky working as a group.
I think that the claymation went well. And it was very fun too.
I would make a war with warriors and dragons. A very cool claymatiom.
One thing that I would like to add to my claymation is a giant monster with laser beam eyes. And fire breath.
My Claymation is about a world wrestling championship or wwc. We had crazy characters like SpongeBob, 2 pink balls, a Jamaican dude, and pacman ghost with legs. We came up with most of it before the play like the title, characters, and how it is going to start. Then during the movie we thought it would be cool for comedy and action. So most of the comedy happened in the background. The action was the main part.
We had good days and bad days like when we messed up. As a team we get a lot accomplished. We forgot where we placed the set so we had to look at the last picture we took. I liked the comedy part in the background and I made most of it. It was actually fun doing the background.
Every time we put our clay away our ring got messed up. So every time we got our clay back we had to fix the ring. Knowing where to place everything where they were last time. It was easy because the pictures told us where we placed the thing last time. I would make it longer, funnier, and with more characters. I would make it more look better and make like an announcer voice and have the referee talk.
Our groups Claymation is about a snake that eats a rat and lays baby snakes. We discussed what we could do and we are making three baby snakes. Then we decided it would be cool if the snakes were exactly the same as the adult snake. Our Claymation worked perfectly and everyone worked together. The benefits are that the Claymation turned out really good and that we worked really hard on it. Well one major problem is that I got suspended for 4 days. I fixed that by apologizing but that is not important right now. I enjoyed watching my Claymation after we got very far! What I think was the most challenging was that everyday we had to try to get the camera in the same spot as it was the previous day. I think that how are set was arranged went very well. I would improve the camera set, and make it closer. That is what my groups Claymation is all about.
