Working as a group to think of an idea was hard at times.  I think that it can be hard is because we both had great ideas that we wanted to use but we had to choose one.  At times we did fight over whose invention we should use.  Throughout the process we had fun times and then we had our serious moments where there was too much craziness going on and not enough “we need to get this done” going on.

My invention is called music buds.  What are music buds you ask?  Well let me tell you music buds are wireless ear buds that nobody can see because they are made specially to fit your ears and can match your hair color( only if you want that.  If you don’t you could get other colors that you would like.)  Also the music you listen to gets transferred from a little transmitter that connects to your iPod.  The transmitter goes into the slot where the headphones plug went.

I came up with this idea with my partner by thinking of things we thought were cool.  We chose this invention because we thought it would be cool if we made wireless ear buds.  I thought that it was also a very good idea because I thought that we would get a lot of costumers.  We would get a lot of them because most kids have to deal with boring classes and those long lectures.  All we had to do was just imagine about what people wanted to have these days and we knew people liked music and they get caught listening to music.

I said to my partner while we were brainstorming that I wanted to do something like face book but only for kids at Omni and she didn’t like that idea and she said that she wanted something to do with music.  Then I said to her what about wireless ear buds.  And she loved the idea so much.  Creating a thumbnail sketch was fun because we both got to do our own idea of how our poster should look like.  Our teacher chose my idea but we used a little bit of both on the poster.  At first it was hard to choose the name and the price because my partner was absent that day but I chose $250.00 and when she came back chose the name music buds and she changed the price to only $50.00.

Our next step was to write a script for the video.  We had a girl, a teacher and, a magic voice.  The girl was listening to her music when her teacher walked into the classroom.  Her teacher yelled at her and took her I phone and headphones away.  And then the girl said she was sad and then a magic voice said to her, “do you want to listen to your music in class without getting in trouble.”  She said that she would like that and the magic voice rewinded everything but this time the girl has music buds and the teacher is not able to see the ear buds.  Then at the end everybody is so happy and they start to dance to Part of Me by Katy Perry.

When I did my storyboard my partner wanted to have stuffed animals in the storyboard.  When I heard that I started to laugh and told her no way so we just went on with drawing the storyboard we put both of our ideas in (except the stuffed animals!)  We mostly did medium shots but at times we did a close up on the teacher and some on the girl.

Next we shot our video and boy did we have a lot of laughing.  When we shot the video we all started to crack up just because somebody said something wrong.  But we did have a lot of fun filming it because I got to have my friend that was in a different group to be our teacher.  So I think we all had a lot of fun even when we had to face our problems.

What I learned from the project so far is that team work is very important because you may be doing something incorrect and you know that you have somebody to look at for help.  People are better off with a partner to work with for help and nobody will ever out do you.

My team, Greta and I, Didn’t entirely know what to do. She had the idea to make a FaceBook for Omni and I wanted to listen to music and then the Idea hits me like slap in the face. Music buds, the wireless ear buds that are easily hidden and fit perfectly into your ears. When we had to make the poster we started to the easy stuff and just get to the information before we do anything truly creative. The video we designed shows a girl using music buds during school.

Our invention comes in a variety of colors and patterns. We have pairs that are zebra pattered, polka dotted, green, red, white, black and more coming soon. My favorite pair are the zebra ones that are black and white striped. They work when you put the transmitter in your music device and start to play music.

I really wanted to listen to music during school and didn’t want to get caught. I was thinking for a little bit listening to Greta ramble on about her idea, then I somewhat cut her off and tell her my idea she immediately loves it and we get to work right away. We each design a thumbnail sketch and Mr. Goldstein loves Greta’s so we get to work designing it on a big paper.

Our script involved 3 people a camera person/ magic voice, a girl who gets to listen to music buds, and a teacher. The girl gets her iPod taken away and the magic voice switches out her iPod ear buds with music buds the teacher doesn’t take the girls iPod away.

Greta did our storyboard while I wrote the script. She started off with the girl listening to music and the ear bud wires coming from her ears. Then the teacher comes and takes away the iPod. The magic voice coming from the camera talks to her. Then the setting and time goes bake to the original but the girl has music buds. She waves hi to the teacher as he  casually walks past not noticing her  listening to music.

We are currlently in the middle of shooting our video and we have a lot of bloopers. Gretta and Katie ( Katie plays teacher) kept laughing and we finally finished the first half. But I like what we’ve done so far.

I have learned that I like to work with people because they help you get done faster. I hate to work on things for an extended amount of time. I learned how to take a panda and put it on paint with a quote bubble and make it look cute (I tried with a penguin and it was very hard)

Girl 1: (Take phone out and listens to music)

Teacher: (yells at girl 1 And Takes away phone)

Girl 1: (becomes sad) I’m sad now I can’t listen to music. L

Magic Voice:  Hey you do you want to listen to music.

Girl 1: (Freaked out not knowing where the voice is coming from) yes!?

Magic Voice: Without a teacher finding out and taking your phone away.

Girl 1: Sure that would be cool.

*magic noises created by the power of animation + new scene*

Setting goes back to the original

Girl 1: (Take phone out and listens to music)

Teacher: (walks by nonchalantly and waves to the teacher)Hi

Magic Voice: See he can’t see that you’re listening to music.

Girl 1: I LOVE MUSIC BUDS!!!

*Plays part of me in the background*

Girl 1:  Music buds are a part of me that teachers can never see

Magic Voice: Music buds are $50 and shipping and handling and teachers can physically see them.
