Ultra Pen Written Essay
Our invention (John, Tyler, Matt, and I) was the Ultra Pen 5000. You might wonder how we got that name and what the Ultra Pen 5000 actually did. Well, I will tell you. Ok, it started on the day when Mr. Goldstein gave out the invention project. Everybody was delighted to have such an interesting project, which was different from the things we were doing before.
Alright, after Mr. Goldstein gave the project and explained exactly what to do, everybody broke into groups. Tyler, John, Matt, and I decided to be a group since we all had skills to contribute to the group. Tyler had a super good idea for the video, John was a really good artist so he draw up the poster. I was the one who thought up the invention, and we needed one more person to be the camera man and to help color the poster and the storyboard.
Ok, so all of you are probably wondering how I figured out the idea about the Ultra Pen 5000. Ok, so last night I was watching the spongebob where they had that pen which whatever they drew came to life. Anyway, John was using a pen to write these ideas we were having, which reminded me of that.
Alright, Alright, I think I am done boasting, anyway Tyler made the script and story board and his idea was pretty good, the idea was that this random kid would be drawing something, but would get annoyed and get angry. Then suddenly a burst of smoke shoots up from the ground and a genie comes out and gives him a pen and says, “This is the Ultra Pen 5000.” The original guy takes the pen and draws a fat guy on his paper. Suddenly, the fat guy jumps out of the paper and comes to real life.
So, ya we haven’t gotten any farther yet but stay tuned.

Introduction- working together as a team to create an idea for your invention was good at times and bad at times. Sometimes we could go a day with everything being perfect, but some days we couldn’t even go 10 minutes without fighting about something stupid. With the poster people in our group would fight over who got to draw but it turned out to be me because we voted that I was the best artist. Eventually we kicked one of our group members out(not saying any names). We all got along better after he left.

Invention- Our invention is called The Ultra Pen 5000, what it does is when you draw something on a sheet of paper it will come to life. I really like

How we came up with the idea- Well it’s nothing to really brag about but all we did is when we were having some major brain farts we went to the thing that we all had in our hands, a pen. The pen seemed like an okay idea at the time so we hopped right on that idea and stuck with that.

Steps in creating your project-Brainstorming ideas is probably the key concept for any idea, we had a harder time doing it though.
Creating a thumbnail was actually pretty easy to do. All we needed is some markers and a pencil to sketch it out.
Designing a poster was easy as 1 2 3 nothing special at all to it.

Script- Our script was written by Tyler B. It’s not the best but it is okay, it’s actually pretty funny at times.

Storyboard- Our group has finished the storyboard thanks to our group member Dhruv A. it’s actually pretty good to.

Video- We actually haven’t shot our video yet because our group members are never in the class at the same time but I think next week is when we are going to finish the video

Conclusion- I have learned that when you work together it can be hectic at times but if you can get over that than your group will flourish.

Invention Quiz
My team thought of H2R [How 2 Remember]. It helps people remember what they have forgotten. The sketches for the bottle we came up with was a bottle of blue liquid that has a reddish wrapper. It said H2R.
We came up with it by me saying we should do something to help people remember things. Once we decide on that we brainstorm what we would do. Finally Jack thought that we should do a drink. Celia thought of the name.
We all made a thumbnail. Each one gave us ideas, but we went with Celia because she was the artist of the group. After Mr. Goldstein checks it we started on the poster. Celia drew the bottle, wrote the name in bubble letter, and wrote the description of the invention and told what it did. The rest of us color it. The bottle is blue with a reddish wrapper. The lid is gray. The cost of it is $79.99. It said, “That this item help you remember all you have forgotten.” It can help you anything, for instance your friend birthday, your next class and many more. You should buy it because have you ever forgot something important. Well now you get to remember it.
Our script was where Celia and I were two kids that couldn’t remember things that were important. She couldn’t remember her friend’s birthday. I couldn’t remember where my next class was. While wishing that there was something to help us, Jack appears with the H2R bottle. Next Jack tells us that it will help us remember. We both drink H2R and remember. Then we have Kyle said, “I’m Barack Obama and I approve this message.”
The first picture in our storyboard was of Celia and I sitting at a table in a medium shot. Next Jack appears with the bottles. Then we have the bottles and drinking it. Finally it show Kyle and Rodrigo has the bottle and are talking about it.
Problems we had during the shooting our video was that Michael the camera guy kept deleting thing we thought were good. We couldn’t talk loud. During the scene with Kyle, the first time he didn’t know what our invention was called. Have someone else be the camera guy? And told Kyle his lines.
I’ve learn that it is easy to think of ideas with a group. Also it helped with sharing the work and not doing it all yourself. It can be hard though because you have to reline on them that they will be here. One of our members was absent and we couldn’t continue.

H 2 Remember-

CELIA: “Hey Jackson, I can’t remember when my friend’s birthday is. She said it’s coming soon, but I just can’t remember what exact date it is this month!”

JACKSON: “Well, I really don’t know.”

CELIA: “I wish there was something that could help me remember, so I can show up to her birthday party on the right date.”

JACKSON: “You know, I can’t even remember what class is next for me. It’s the first week of school anyway. That would be really cool if there was something to help us remember. Like a drink or something.”
Random guy from the future appears…

JACKSON: “WOW!!! A man from the future!”

CELIA: “Why would he be here?”
Jack’s announcing…
JACK: “Are you someone who doesn’t remember anything? Well here’s something new for you! It’s called H2R. It’s a high-tech substance that makes you remember everything that you’ve forgotten! (Kids say really?!) That’s right! Remember everything! People are going crazy for this thing! “

JACKSON & CELIA: “Really?”

My In invention was the ultra pen 5000.  It took a really long time to come up with an idea and we thought this one was really good. The thumbnail was easy because all we had to draw was a pen also it was fun. Designing the poster was really fun and I enjoyed the whole process. The hardest part with designing a poster was that if we messed up it would look bad and we would get a bad grade. Also we all agreed on what color to make all the stuff. It was a good experience to work with my friends and have fun. When we started it was very hard to find a good invention. We struggled to find a good idea but then once we got the idea we went from there. We had other great ideas but this one would make the best project. I really enjoyed the experience and hope to have more fun experiences like this. It   made me exited to come to school and put something in my mind all day throughout school and made me have something on my mind. Also I would like to say that I am extremely excited to film our video.

The micro-zap script was about a guy named joe who really wanted food and a salesman came by and offered him a micro-zap. He showed joe how it worked and he bought it without ant doubt in his mind.

Some of the pictures we came up with was Joe standing there saying hes so hungry. Then the salesman came. Then he introduced the micro-zap and Joe was amazed.

The only problems we encountered filming was my friend Sepand messing around

It was fun and I learned how to work well with others.

In this class, my group and I created an invention called the micro-zap, which worked like this. You write what food you want on a piece of paper, put it in the micro-zap, press the zap button, and boom. You have the food! As for the video, we got along great and filmed an entertaining movie.

My friend Bryan came up with the invention micro-zap while the group was brain-storming.

In the cration of the micro-zap proccess, we got a big cardboard box and colored it with the features we imagined. Then we cut an opening in the front of the box as a door to the micro-zap.

Joe: Ugh, I’m so hungry. I wish there was a way to get food super quickly.

Salesman: Well look no further! Introducing the Micro-Zap! The micro-zap is a fast way to get your food. Here is how it works. You write what you want on a piece of paper and stick it into the micro-zap. Then, click the ZAP button and its there! 

Dwyane: I got my micro-zap and I love it!

Albert: Oh me too! It is amazing!

Joe: Well where can I get one?

Salesman: I happen to have one with me now. Here you go. *gives Joe the micro-zap*

Essay:
My invention is the Micro-Zap. My group and I came up with it by thinking about food because we were hungry. I find that kind of funny. It was hard to come up with an idea but we still got through it. After we got the idea, we made a script and a play and a storyboard and a poster. That was actually very easy. And also I had a lot of fun.
The invention that my group and I came up with is called The Micro-Zap. It functions like a Micro-Wave and looks like one too. Its job is to be a fast and easy way to get the food that you want. You write what you want on a piece of paper, put it in the Micro-Zap, and close the door, then you press the big ZAP button, and when you open the door, the food that you wrote down on the piece of paper is there waiting for you to eat it !
My group and I came up with the Micro-Zap idea by thinking and thinking. WE had no idea what to do for our invention. Lunch was a couple periods behind us, so we were getting hungry. We said how cool it would be if we could just poof food right out of the open. And then we knew that we had our invention!
Like I just said, we brainstormed our idea by being hungry and wanting food. Creating a thumbnail sketch was a little more difficult. We had our idea but we didn’t have our design. So we created one. Designing our poster was fun. We put the name of the invention, a drawing of it, a description of the invention that tells what it does, why someone would buy it and how much it costs. All that was thought of by us.
Then we had to make a script for an advertisement that would be filmed for the invention. The script showed an average person who was hungry but did not have any food. So he walked into a shop and the worker had just what he needed. He had the Micro-Zap. So the script said how to use it, what it does and so much more. We also showed an example by using cool ranch Doritos. And the person ended up buying the product.
In our video we had all kinds of shots. Close ups, establishing shots, medium shots, zooms, tilts, and pan. We tried making a variety of shots which worked out. We also kind of made our own shots by shooting in a unique way.
Now was the step that we shot our video. I would most definitely say with no doubt that this was the most fun step of all in the process. We got to go outside and take a video camera and act out our commercial according to the script. My group and I had so much fun.
In conclusion, What I have learned from this project is to work together and to have fun. Because I did have fun and I liked it. I hope I get a good grade for this project and it was a really good idea.
