As we sat down as a group we didn’t know what our invention should be.  It all started when Gavin went to the nurse and needed a band-aid. Then Evan came up with the idea of the boo-boo fixer. We had a lot of fun making the video and the poster. We thought it was the best idea.

Our invention is the boo-boo fixer. The boo-boo fixer is a band-aid that you put on a cut and it goes away in two minutes. Most people think that their cuts are embarrassing, so if you use the boo-boo fixer it will be gone in very short notice.

We came up with the invention when Gavin got a caught from Austin and went to the nurse and ended up coming back with a band-aid. Evan then came up with the boo-boo fixer. We thought it was a very good idea so it stuck.

Brainstorming the idea I thought was the easiest part. It was very simple. The thumbnail sketch was also pretty easy because we just wrote the basic information about it and drew a band-aid. In  the thumbnail we didn’t put a lot of colors and detail but it was still good. Then the actual poster was almost the same as the thumbnail but more colorful and bigger. Our poster came out amazing.

Our script was short and explanatory. We did followed the script very well in the video.  The script just said what each of our parts were and what we had to say. In the storyboard it was just stick figures in separate boxes talking to each other (the same words in the script).it was mainly a medium shot.

In the video our main problem was probably having Gavin fall and him not falling in the right spot. But we solved them because we just had to keep trying. But next time we will try to do something not as painful.

In the end I learned that anybody can make an invention and anybody can do what they want to  do.

My group’s invention is the Invisa-watch. The Invisa-watch turned you invisible for one hour if you click the button in the middle while wearing the watch. The way we came up with the invention is by thinking of a way of involving a penguin and a watch and we thought it would be cool to make the penguin turn invisible.

My group was looking at one of the group members watch and we thought “this could be something we could use for our invention”, and the watch became out invention. The thumbnail sketch was first designed by one of our members who drew the watch and the rest of the group added in our own touches. After we drew the thumbnail sketch, we drew the poster with the watch and some of the things that the watch does and an example of why you would need to use the watch. We also put the cost of the invention and you could find it at your local kmart.

My group’s script is the lines that the penguin, kid, narrator, and bullies will say. It is about a penguin finding a watch so that he will turn invisible and get away from the bullies. The storyboard has zoom shots on the penguin when he is running and the rest of the shots were establishing shots of the bullies and kid. The big problem that we had with shooting the video was the noise levels around us. We solved the problem by going into a room and recording the sounds with no other sounds around us. I would go straight into the room to record next time.

I have learned that if you work as a group, you can really come out with something cool and I think my video will be really neat.

Personally I think me and my team did a great job of working together to create an idea for an invention and documenting it through sketches, a poster and a video. My team and I worked especially hard working on the video, because we kept laughing or messing up. My team also worked super hard on the poster, but after all, I guess we can say our hard work paid off.

My group’s invention is the Mystical Makeup Machine. My group came up with the idea for the Mystical Makeup Machine because I was putting on my makeup and my team thought our invention should be a makeup machine. Then I said the name should sound magical, and we came up with the name Mystical Makeup Machine.
The steps in creating my project were rather simple, it was just an Iphone acting as the “Mystical Makeup Machine,” a string, or wire attached to the machine, and a spray bottle that sprays out the makeup. Creating a thumbnail sketch for my poster was fun, because I got a chance to show my team mates what I thought the poster should look like. On the other hand designing the poster was not as fun, but in the end I think our poster came out as the best poster in the class.

My group’s script, was basically about me being in the bathroom struggling with putting on my makeup, and then my friend Abby comes up to me and tells me about the Mystical Makeup Machine. We have a conversation, and finally she tells me where to find the Mystical Makeup Machine. Abby then brings me to the Mystical Makeup Machine shop, where I meet Dayna, the lady who sells the Mystical Makeup Machine. Dayna lets me pick my settings, and then lets the Machine do its magic, after I see the results I am pleased, and decide I might buy the Mystical Makeup Machine.
My team used the Establishing shot, and also the medium shot, we found these shots the easiest and best, or most accurate way to film our video.
The problems we found while shooting our video, was that we weren’t speaking loud enough, also that we kept on messing up. What we did in order to fix these problems, is that we kept on re-shooting our video and speaking louder, and trying really hard not to mess up, or laugh.
I honestly learned, how to work really well with my group, and I learned some things about how to work, or use the cameras. I had an extremely amazing time working on this video I think it helped me with my people skills too!

Dayna- ok great!

Dayna- so you put your settings on this, such as how thick you want your eyeliner and how much mascara you want, and then you open up the spray bottle and spray It on.
