Omni scores big with FCAT gains!

School wide FCAT results have arrived at Omni. Everyone did their best and the results speak for themselves. Individual results are not yet available.

  • Scores increased in 7 out of 8 categories!
  • All Reading, Science, and 7th grade Math scores are the highest in Omni history!
  • Writing produced 43 “6.0s” which more than doubled last year. Another school record!
  • Total scores averaged in the top 4 of all county middle schools including magnets.

    Lying in their depths is harnessed energy,

    Just waiting to be released.


    Letters, words, sentences,

    Like rockets on their launch pads,

    Anticipating their liftoff.

    So they can find their targets and use their power

    To bring out smiles in the sullen,

    Induce tears in the immovable,

    Excite the lethargic,

    Calm the angry,

    Bring hope to the dejected,

    And remorse to the heartless.


    Changing one person,

    Changing one community,

    Changing one nation,

    Changing the world.


    My words make a difference,

    And so does their creator.

  • I Am an Artist


    Armed with pens and pencils

    Crayons and markers

    Watercolors, oil pastels, acrylics

    Charcoal and tempera

    I set out on my journey

    Into a different world

    A world where the sky is brilliant shades of blue

    Indigo

    Cobalt

    Cerulean

    All meshing together in a seamless patchwork

    A world where flying horses stampede past

    On wings of flame

    Under a sizzling sun of cornflower yellow

    With the grass like forest green carpet

    Beneath my feet

    A world where logic is overruled by color

    And reason lay pure possibility

    Apples the size of soccer balls

    Hang from giant trees with leaves of polka-dotted pink

    Bubbling rivers in a shade of gold

    Abound with leaping purple goldfish

    A world where time has no jurisdiction

    And limitations make no difference

    A world where I can set my imagination free

    To run wild

    On silver breaths of wind

    I pick up my pencil

    And begin to draw
