Is it a face or a vase?

Optical illusions are images that are seen different than reality.  There are basic optical illusions such as ones that can make you see two different things, like “face or a vase”, and others that make you see things that are not really there, like “mysterious gray dots”.  I think the most famous type of optical illusion is an optical illusion that makes something look likes its moving, like “are the circles spinning”.  These optical illusions all can be perceived in different ways.  Some people might easily see one thing but might have trouble seeing the other.  You can see the other things by focusing.  My favorite optical illusion is “elephant like illusion” because it looks like two different things, it’s hard to see every time, and it is unexpected.

I love the optical illusions that you can see two different ways.  This is because they are like puzzles.  Usually the two different pictures are easy to see, but sometimes they are very hard to see.  When they are hard to see, they are like a puzzle to me.  In my favorite optical illusion “elephant leg illusion” the puzzle for me is seeing the number of legs on the elephant.

Every time I look at elephant leg illusions it looks different.  This is because the way it is drawn.  The elephant’s legs are drawn but the spaces between them have the feet.  This creates an optical illusion.

Many optical illusions in this category are unexpected.  Elephant leg illusion is unexpected because most elephants have four full legs connected to their body.  The elephant’s feet are actually placed in the spaces between the four footless legs.

In conclusion, the optical illusion with two different things to see, hard to see the optical illusion repeatedly and the optical illusion being unexpected make my favorite optical illusion “elephant leg illusion”.  The trick to seeing this is looking at the legs and the spaces in between.  The number of legs….well only the creator would know but feel free to guess.
