Following up on Mrs. Elkin’s visit to our class, we can look a little further into this unfortunate trend. The video you saw came from MSNBC. You can view it and others like it here. What are your thoughts on this subject? Have you been a part of bullying or watched it happen? I’m talking about seeing something or being a part of something and feeling uncomfortable because you knew it was wrong. Did you know that the victim was clearly upset, scared or uncomfortable? Maybe the victim was you. How do you react to these situations? Do we handle things better now than maybe we have in the past?

According to http://www.pascack.k12.nj.us, “Thirty percent (30%) of U.S. students in grades six through ten are involved in moderate or frequent bullying — as bullies, as victims, or as both — according to the results of the first national survey on this subject.”
After reading this, I find it unbelievable that that many students are involved in bullying. Mrs. Elkin informed us about some pretty horrific, true stories about bullying. Bullies often pick on kids who are unaware of their surroundings because these kids make easy targets. This is one reason you should be alert for bullies.

Bullying is a very awful act that people really commit to, and the ways that it is developing is overwhelming. There is all kinds of bullying and I think that is wrong for people to bully others because there are other ways of solving conflicts. Physical or Verbal Bullying affects the life of the “bullied” and it can even lead to death in most serious cases. Back in the past people were not very cruel as they are now, and that is because these generations are based upon trends and becoming the most popular that everyone enjoys, and if there is one person who is not following these tactics, then they become the victim. I highly disagree.

Hundreds of kids are bullied every day in all of America. more than half are middle schoolers. Last year, my friend on the bus was bullied by a kid 3 years older than him. I witnessed the whole thing. The bus driver tried to help but there wasn’t much she could do. Also, another kid was pushed into a bus window and the window broke. After that incident, he never took the bus again. Many bullied kids think that no one cares about them, but that’s not true. Another one of my friends got gum in his hair by the same kid you read about earlier in this comment. He told his parents and they called the School Board of Education. They took immediate action and suspended the kid right away. So my point is if you have any problems with bullying tell your parents and/or educators.

The video is a case where there is a big conflict involved, because Teens these days don’t think before they act. The girl should have thought that it would be wrong to text an offense text to the boy that is suffering from his brothers loss. When someone loses a loved one, it is a very dark feeling that surrounds you very a long time , and I can understand why the boy would do that, but the way he handled the situation was too brutal. The person who is guilty here is the girl who sent the text message, because why send a horrible message, and she could have neglected the boy’s question on the whereabouts of her best friend.

I believe that bullying is an issue in the world that will always be there and we as students have to try to prevent it and not do exterme things when we get angry like beat someone to near death when someone says or sends a message that is uncalled for, rude, and u just shouldn’t say. Such as the example “go vistit your dead brother”. First he could have coffonted her and really find out what happened. Second the person could have texted back and tryed to see what was going on. Finally the person could have told somebody instead of beating that person up to near death. These are perfectly good solutions to that problem instead of almost killing some one.

No i have not been a bully. Nor have i been a victim of bulling and i haven’t seen any bulling going on and hopefully there will not be any going on soon and i never knew that making fun of someone is bulling and i also have a question if your making fun of someone and there making fun of you does that count as bullying.

I think this is really sad. I think Kayla should be charged as an adult. Wayne has had a rough life and for someone to do this to him is horrible. Kayla started all of this and she should be put in jail for life.

My thoughts on bullying are that we should try to stop as much as we can because it’s ruinning some people’s lives just by having that torture maybe every day. I haven’t been apart of it but my little brother has seen it before. Most victims would probably be scared to get hurt. I would react by maybe running to the nearest adult and asking for their help. We do handle it a bit better than in the past but that doesn’t mean that we can’t try harder to prevent anything from happening.

In some cases bullying can be a sign of low self-esteem, or insecurity. Life would be so much simpler if everyone would just get along and treat others with respect. Bullying can sometimes take place without one’s notice even between close friends. I have never actually had the experience of watching someone get bullied but if I did I would try to support them in the best way I could.

I can only imagine how degrading it is to get bullied and treated as if you were less than your equals. I never have witnessed someone getting seriously bullied but if I did I would try to support them in the best way I could.

bullying is a very bad thing to do but why would some one commit suicide over that. there was someone on the bus who was talking about someone but he did not know that person was on the bus. so that person got mad and was yelling at him. so he said “come say that to my face” and he was going to but, i stopped him and he went off the bus because he was scared.

Bullying is something that is very bad and should not be tolerated. Although I have not been a part of it I wouldn’t bully someone just to make myself feel better. In the videos from what the reporters say you can see that the victim was upset and a little scared. I think that now we handle bullying better because people talk to childen about it.

I personally believe that bullying is wrong and should be completely stopped. If everybody could just get along or solve their issues in an easier and safer manner than middle and high school lives would be a lot easier. In my past 3 years at ELMS I have witnessed bullying and it made me feel uncomfortable watching somebody get teased or beaten up even though I was not the one bullying anybody. Typically in these situations I would just walk away and move on with my life because getting involved could cause me trouble, but after watching these videos and listening to Mrs. Elkin speak about bullying and how it can cause people to go suicidal, from this day forward I will attempt to stop any bullying I see and if I cannot stop it I will tell an adult that can.

What I think of bullying is that it’s very harmful and can make people very sad and even want to kill themselves. I have watched bullying happen before and it’s very hard to watch because I hate to see people get hurt. I think that of all the people who come to talk to us about bullying, kids should listen and stop bullying for good.

In 6th grade i was the victim , I was teased for having braces and glasses. I was also made fun of my smile, and my hight. I didnt really react to it im mosty ignored them. Also when mrs.elkin said its almost always girls, it is true they can be very visious and rude. I’m glad the states and school and taking more action in preventing bullying because it does happen often and it may lead to suicide.

I believe that all bullying should be stopped throughout the country. I have seen bullying in our school and shouldv’e tried to stop it. After viewing the entire interview of Kayla Manson, I definitely would change what happened in the past. I wouldv’e tried to stop the bullying rather than watch it happen. I know now that it is very important to stand up for someone that is being bullied. Bullying could seriously harm someone if not stopped. I completely disagree with what Kayla Manson did. I do not believe that she sincerly is sorry for what happened. She obviously saw that Wayne was angry when looking for Josie. She wrote the text message and knew very well that it was wrong. I think that everything that Kayla did was indeed bullying and could have definitely been prevented.

“Stop the Bullying”. As a thirteen year old boy, it makes me crazy to see people torment each other which unfortunately can lead to death.Why can’t people ignore or get along with one another? It seems to me that the ones who do the bullying have low self-esteem and control issues. They’re the ones that need help. In the case of fifteen year old Phoebe Prince her text message,”I cant do it anymore…im literally hme cryn”, says that she really is crying out for help. We need to take these messages seriously and report them before something worse can happen. The quote “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me” is false. Not only can words hurt you, but they can kill you.

Bullying is a topic that is widely referred to topic that can mean up to a variety of things. Bullying is mainly referred to as physically hitting someone, but the most effective type of bullying is verbal bullying. The video about Phoebe Prince is very sad and tragic event that happened and i have witnessed this a few times but never to this extent, and the story about Josie’s beating was a very dumb thing to do to a innocent girl who is now suffering brain damage. I have seen a few fights at our school, but never boy to girl.

i think bullying is very upsetting and disturbing. and it could be scary. it is very easy to bully someone without knowing it. i have never actually did severe bullying. or anything very harmfull that would make someone upset or scared to show them selves.
im sure i have been bullied by arguements with friends. bullying is crazy! it should all stop imediatley.

I think that bullying can be a serious matter. The laws are understandable, but some are unnecessary. I have been bullied before, but not to an amount that can lead to suicide. I think mostly every child has been either the bully or been bullied before. I like how they made laws, but now, even if you joke with a friend it can lead to consequences. I have been accused for bullying in 5th grade. I made a comment about my friends eyes, not knowing that it had hurt her. My teachers gathered me in the halls. They singled me out, and made me feel uncomfortable. Now that bullying is becoming a serious matter, we are handling it more serious than in the past.

My thoughts on this subject is that bullying is wrong and what here best friend did was very wrong of leaving her best friend to die. The boy I think was upset by what she said about him going to see his dead brother which made him flip. I have never been bullied or seen people being bullied but if i did i would not take it. I think we will handle things better now from what we learned.

i have never been bullied before, and I would hate to be bullied to a point that leads to suicide from what was said from the video. I think bullying should be against the law, and I wish people tought of what they say, and what they do before they do it. Bullies could really hurt and even cause someone’s life. I enjoyed watching the videos more than reading the post, even tough they were kind of sad, but overall i enjoyed this.

I feel bulling is becoming a bigger, and bigger problem every year in schools. No one should be bullieds for being different, or having different opinions. More children take they’re lives every year, it’s really horrible. People should try to be nicer, and if they are not. At least appologize to people so they know you were having a bad day, or didn’t mean what you said. They videos were sad, but it’s important information to know. Online people are mean, but i learned that i shouldnt take the comments to heart. I learn to stomp off bullies and pay no attention to them, they are sad pathetic people that don’t deserive the attention. We need to stand up to bullying and do something about it.

This clearly shows that bullying is ridiculous. bullying could take someones life and is very irresponsible. It can lead to suicide and emotional pain. Some people bully without knowing it, which is why we must become aware of what we say and, think about it before we actualy say it. I have never been a part of bullying but I have seen it. The victim was not me but I could see that he was clearly upset. I thought this was a very important video and it was very sad.

Bullying is awful and cruel. The people who bullied phobe probably used her for self-confidencefor themselves. There is only so far bullying can go, and it shouldnt even come to that. Bullies never stop to think what it would be like to step in the victims shoes for a while. Unfortunatley it cant be resolved due to the misfortunate behavior of some people who continue to bully people. The videos in my opinion were greatly upsetting but very informative.

I believe that bullying should not be tolerated in middle school or anywhere for that matter. I have been teased for my last name but i dont get offended by it all, because i have gotten used to it. My problem isn’t bad at all compared to what I have seen on the news and on school campus. People shouldn’t bully other people or students because they think its funny, or because they were having a bad day. The worst is when a person is having problems at home and they have to put it on another innocent student. But when students bully other students, some don’t even realize what they are doing is wrong. Even though there are some laws on bullying, it should be most definately be 100% against the law.

according to bullying ive never been bullied or been it it i have been in pleny of arguments but not acuallly phyisical bullying. Ive seen much people bullying before but not ever reported them cause of my time scudule but from mrs.elkins speech along with officer kaufman ive learned the responsibilities of it and how important it is to our society now. Also because of what happened with that hogh school thats insane how so many people can do this to others but it also gives us a perfect example of what things would happened if u where ever part of this bullying. people accually die for this because they stress and cant take it anymore BULLYING NEEDS TO STOP EVERYWHERE there are some laws agaisnt bullying but they need to make it 100% agaisnt the law !

I think it’s terrible for kids all around the world to be bullied . Me personally i have never really been bullied by people but i still understand how they feel because acouple of my friends have been bullied and i always defend them because i think those people are horrible for me i dont think we should handle a situation by being mean to people i think we should talk it out and when i see other people that are being bullied even if there not my froends i still stand up for them because i think its wrong.

I used to be a victim of bullying by a group of kids in 6th grade and I couldnt handle it.I didint want to be a snitch so I didnt tell anyone I was being bullied ,but now i regret not telling.Its bad to bully or to be bullied so I agree to some people about telling your guidence councilers or teachers about your bullying problems and to get rid of it quick and banned for life.

I think that bullying is a horrible event that can’t really be avoided. In all societies, people often get envious of other people or have disagreements that may cause them to not get along; and eventually this often results in bullying. Even some adults come up with reasons to make themselves feel superior at others’ expenses. As Mrs. Elkin mentioned, I believe that most cases of bullying happen when someone is just playing around and doesn’t realize how damaging what they say is to someone. When I was little a few kids used to make fun of me and sometimes it would really bother me and sometimes it wasn’t that bad. I do believe that if I were bullied today I would have a better reaction than when I was little; but for those being bullied, who have witnessed bullying, or is a bully themself, I believe that you should report it or try to stop it-bullying doesn’t do any good and can only harm people, no matter the intentions.

Bullying is something everyone knows of. I don’t think its right that people can do whatever to a person and nothing back at them. It’s not funny or enjoyable to the person or the others standing around. As being bullied through 2-5, I know what it feels like to be bullied harshly. Bullying should be more enforced than it is now, Bullying should be as illegal as stealing is.

Bullying is growing by population and the world should do something about it.People who get Bullied lose self esteem which may conclude to sucide. schools should be more strict and teachers should be much more watchful to see if any bullying is going around in school. Watching the videos made me think of how bad and awful Bullying really is. Why do bullies do this? To get a laugh? It isn’t right to make a human being feel like a piece of trash. No person should ever be picked on by the way they look, talk, etc. School should have more rules to stop bullying.

I know this is how everyone would feel, but it just feels horrifying and frightening for everyone when they are in a bullying situation.
I was watching some of the bullying videos, and I was just speechless by what kind of things people are doing to other people in present days.
Sometimes, I just think that, when people are bullying, the victim doesn’t realize whether they are getting bullied and whether the person who’s doing it, is bullying. In fact, I have been in a bullying situation, and I was the victim. Last year, from one of my ex-friend and also his brother, was constantly sending me sexual harrassing text messages (however it stopped thankfully). I didn’t realize that was bullying at all until this year when Ms. Elkin came to discuss this matter. I didn’t notice how much I was uncomfortable and how much I felt threatened by the text messages I used to get. I think there has been a lot of bullying in middle school, in my personal experience. People outcast others unintentionally, and that is also part of bullying. So, the victims should try to open up to speak how they feel and try to work it out, or talk to an adult about this situation. And I really don’t think that people has been doing great with handling bullies. I tried talking to an adult but they wouldn’t listen. They aren’t as serious as they say. No matter who the adult is in school or family, they should always care and try to help us and others out.

Bullying is a very sad, terrible subject to experience and talk about. Bullying is horrible especially when I see it happening to other kids in middle school. It shouldn’t be tolerated because it lowers self-esteem, and can harm people in many different ways whether physically, mentally, or socially. When i was younger people would make fun of me for stupid things that i wouldn’t like to mention. It hurts my feelings a lot, and it effected me by lowering my self-esteem a lot. I have also watched it occur to kids around school. A lot of times it is towards kids in wheel chairs and the kids with disibilities. A good thing about experiencing these things is that you grow and continue to grow from observing what happens. Bullying is a cruel subject and it should end now.

I think that If I ever suspected anyone of being bullied I would tell a teacher or a parent right away. Bullying is a horrible thing that is going on in middle schools and even high schools. It should not be tolerated anywhere. If I was in Kayla’s position I would have not texted Wayne something like that back. She was out of place in this situation and really made this whole situation happen. You never know what you say or do can be taken this seriously.

When I read that “Thrity percent of students in the us are bullied, over lookers, or the bullies.” from the first national survy on the subject and heard what the boy did to the girl in florida years back. I feel bad to the girl who got blamed for the text and was beated. I hope that If you gets bullied that you are strounger then me and go to a teacher or adult you trust.

i think bullying is very serious and i think almost every one has been bullied or has bullied at some point in their lives. and is a good think that people
made laws about bullying so it at least settle down but even with laws bullying is still hurtfull and bad and can cause peole to commite sucide.Most students dont even realize that they are bullying.

Bullying in some cases are because of low self-esteem or the boy/girl might find a sense of accomplishment by this unrightful way of treating their own classmates. in my opinion this way of treating people is injust! they shouldn’t be doing this, bullying was the reasult of this innocent young girl to take away her own life just to escape the pain/torture the bully acted upon. Parents and Teachers should have their eyes out to watch the children and focus on the ones that feel left out or in a corner because maybe something is bothering them,or weighing down on their conciese. We wouldn’t want the same thing to happen to the one’s you know and love. Because we know no one deserves this poor treatment. So if you know something don’t be afraid to speak up Before this can become something way serious then it seems. If you have any information about anyone you know being bullyed tell a parent or an adult. you may just save someones life!

Bullying is a very awful thing. It goes on all around the world, some in more places and some in less. But everywhere you go (weather its in a school or any other public place) there’s always going to be bullys and bullying. I’ve been in situations where I felt like no one can help me, or I was afraid to go to school. I’ve also seen a lot of bullying happening to others as well. When I used to live in New York I’ve witnessed a lot. But no matter what, I know I can always talk to my parents or someone who works at school. I believe bullying is an unacceptable action and it should be punishable to who ever commits it.

her explanation i don’t believe her at all. she looks to innocent thought,she said ” shes really sorry” but how can she take it back her friend is hurt already. It was so sad the pictures of her friend. they also had pictures together the look like best friends. And her friend was dating Josy The kid who went to jail. I horrible and i think bullying should be tolerated anywhere!

I personally hate bullying as its cruel and unfair to many innocent people. Bullying has become a serious matter in our lives and we should learn to take action and help the people in need. Many acts of bullying have affected people both physical and
emotional pain, and some even led to suicide. My friends have been victims of bullying as to I am a witness to it, seeing them feel sad, unappreciated and aggrieved in something they are not makes me feel annoyed because I cant do anything about it, but I realize that I need to do something for she is my friend and I have to be there for her whatever the outcome will be, good or bad I need to learn to stay by her side because I think to myself what if it was me out there and how would i feel if my friend didn’t even do anything about it? Thought the law is helping many cases of bullying we should all learn to do our own part and do one random act of kindness in helping
someone being bullied because if we don’t do anything the situation will not only become worse for that person but also to the persons beloved ones.

It is very bad to see what is happing but I think the gril who sent the text is barly geting punished for almost killing her friend. People need to relaize were not a friendly kind of animals. His instinct came out to take charge and take revenge. His instinct was to become alpha. When he was theaten he tried to defend his honnor on animal instinct.

Bullies think it’s funny to make fun of other students, but they don’t understand what that does to a person. We are all humans. We all have feelings. Bullying can effect you physically and mentally. I have never been a part of bullying.What’s the point of bullying? Most bullies do it to look tough or cool in front of everybody. Really, they just have low self-esteem in themselves, so they take it out on other people. Even if they are not physically hurting someone, they are emotionally hurting them.Bullying is really bad.Stop the bullying!

Bullying has been around for a long time and has gotten worse over the years. Now with Internet it is even easier to bully. It is so sad to see that bullying can bring someone to suicide such as Phoebe Prince. It is a sick, and horrrible act that has to come to an end. Everyone should now know that nothing is a joke anymore, and you really don’t know how much it can hurt somebody so serious as suicide. Bullying is simply the bullier having low self esteem, and wanting to take out his frustration on someone he envy’s.

I believe that bullying is such a terrible thing to do. It makes me wonder why anyone would do such a thing. Bullying only brings down the moral of the person being bullying. I would never take part in such a thing, it just makes me sick. I believe that the schools are getting better at spotting bullying actions. If I were to see any student bullying another student, I would report to the closes teacher I could find. I think that it is was a good idea to set-up laws against bullying, but we well have to do better at this because this won’t stop bullying complete. If there were more student how weren’t so afraid in telling, then there will be a whole lot less bullying active in schools. This is what I think about bullying and what to do prevent more students from coming home crying. This what I think about bullying.

Bullying can really hurt someone or a group of people. Everybody gets effected when bullying takes place. The person it happens to, gets depressed and thinks bad of themselves. The person doing the bullying might feel guilty about bullying the person. Also the people the witnessed it have it on their minds. So this all could be avoided if people learned how to be nice to eachother, learned respect, and grew up. I’ve never really bullied anyone cause I am just not that type of person, but I have seen it numerous times and occasions. It’s really childish and there’s no reason for it. You could see it in the person’s face the deep sadness they encountered. Why and how could people be so mean? If I feel I can make the person feel better I talk to them and ask if they’re alright. But if I see anything I say might make someone feel worse, I just walk away. I think we could do more if we told some people how to act to one another. But sometimes that doesn’t help either. So all we can do is try to make sure we don’t hurt other people’s feelings.

Bullying shouldn’t be happening these days. Because you might not know if you’re hurting the other persons feelings. During my time in middle school, a lot of of times people would make fun of my last name. At first i was okay with it but then after while when others was pronounsing it wrong on purpose, i got annoyed by it. My point is, it is not nice to make somebody feel bad just to make yourself feel good. Cause you never know what that person may do. For example one person put a video camera in his roommates room and recorded everything that was going on in it. Once the roommate found out he went to the washington bridge and jumped off.

I believe that bullying isn’t right and no one should have to deal with it. I have been lucky and haven’t had to dealt with being bullied, but I have seen some people get bullied for some of the stupidest things. Such as peoples lastnames , if their not the prettiest , and for their weight. Before I use to just walk away when i see someone getting bullied , but now since I have watched these videos I learned that I should try to stop it or go to an adult. But sometimes it can come to extreme measures such as some people have actually died for being bullied so much. Lots of people who get bullied don’t think anything about it , but once it happens so much and they keep it bottled up they just can’t take it anymore and do something they didn’t really intend on doing. I do not believe in bullying and I think that everyone should just get along. I feel as though bullying should be against the law no matter how bad it was. If bullying stoped I feel as though going to school would be much easier and people wouldn’t have to worry anymore about it.

My opinion on bullying is that people do it just to feel better about themselves; especially teenagers. Most like to have that “higher power” feeling, and make others feel worse. But sometimes you don’t realize how bad all of your comments, rumors and ect. can be on someone until an adult gets involved, or an even worse outcome happens. I think if everyone can watch videos like these, and see the harmful effects of even the slightest bit of bullying, that there would be a major drop in the number of children getting bullied.

Based on the videos focusing on Phoebe Prince and Josie Ratley bulliying is a very serious crime.Phoebe was tourmented by her high school classmates so often that she took drugs,and commited suicide to escape being tortured.Josie was kicked and stomped on with steel toed boots,causing her to go into a coma and relearn the basics of life from her alphabet,to how to brush her hair and teeth,to how to put on lipgloss.Now i dont think that people think about how the person they are bullying feels after being bullyed.I think that next time you want to say something to someone,you should think about how what you are going to say is gonig to effect the person it is being said to.

I believe bullying is wrong and I hope more schools will become more aware of bullying. I don’t think that bullying should be tolerated in middle school or high school. I think that what Kayla Manson did was wrong. She should have done something about her best friend being bullied. I have never witnessed someone being bullied, and I’ve never been a victim. I thought the videos were very interesting.

I believe bullying is absolutely horrible and shouldn’t be tolerated anywhere. I’m so happy that society is taking it much more seriously nowadays. I am friends with Josie Rately (the girl that almost got killed from bullying at Deerfield Middle) & it’s so sad what some people do & think to each other. I used to be bullied in Elementary School and I would go home crying sometimes. School should be somewhere you go to be comfortable & express yourself without being made fun of. I agree with all the laws that they are now coming out with and hope that people will stop with their unnecessary “jokes” and realize it could hurt them that bad.

My thoughts on bullying is that it is very wrong and people can get really hurt be this. I have seen people say mean things in the hall way. Also I have seen people being teased. I don’t like seeing this because it makes me feel sad that people actually do these things to other people. They say they are only kidding and that it doesn’t matter because that is there friend. I could see that the person being bullied was scared and didn’t know what to do. When I see bullying I usually just walk away and try to avoid it. Now after knowing everything I know the next time I see bullying I am going to report it and tell a teacher. Bullying is a very serious matter and I know that now.

I think bullying is probably one of the worst things people can do to one another. Bullying can lead to many things such as depression, loneness, and evan the worst suicide.Suicide is basically when a person for some reason just takes there life away and kills themselves. According to http://www.suicide.org in 2002 Lithuania was the country that had the most suicide rates in the world. I myself have been teased just cause I had glasses, but that never bothered me, I always think of the positive side than the negative side and keep my life moving, I have always done this to make my life easier.I have also witnessed people get in fights, but most of the time ignore it and feel bad, I do this cause I don’t want to get in the middle of the situation. Bullying could easily make a big difference in a school. I think bullying should never in any situation be tolerated by anyone.

Bullying is very bad why should somebody bully someone. The person would not like somebody bulling them. Why would that person who is being bullied commit suicide? Because that person is very sad and think they are nothing. The bully should feel very bad for making someone kill them self. That is why bulling is very bad.

no i have not been a victim of bullying or been a bully in my past.therfore bullying is not a tolerable thing in middle school,in this country,or around the world because it can lead to somebody losing there life because of somebodys actions or sayings.

I think that bullying is a terrible thing. It should not be tolerated anywhere. And now of days it’s becoming a biger problem then ever. I think that we all have been hearing so many things in the news lately about horridable things that have been the result of bullying. It has been taking lives of many. I think that its important to show this video because I know that the girl and boys who bullyed didn’t think that it would cause them to comit suicide. I think that it’s a good thing that law inforcements are steping up the law and making it a serious matter. It should be 100 % agisnt the law.

Well first off, I personally think that bullying is wrong on so many levels. Many kids all around are victims of this topic, I’m sure the people who have derogatory meaning towards the kids don’t do it intentionally or don’t know their doing it. Some might say people bully kids because it makes them feel better or their jealous but i think people who bully others say mean things because they feel as if their simply better then them. Bullying is not nice, especially since you might not know what other people are going through at home.

In my belief, bullying is a very serious matter. I feel everyone should be treated equally. Now a days people get bullied almost everyday, because of some very small weakness. I think, that bullies want to get attention and make people afraid of them. Most bullies these days think they’re better than everyone else. I have been a part of a bullying situation before where I have been the victim, this made me feel very small inside, and it made me feel as though I wasn’t important. I also have bullied people before, and afterwards I felt completely horrible knowing I hurt another person. Bullying has lead to suicide, and attempt of murder. After all the cases I have heard about bullying, people should think twice before saying something that may ruin anothers persons’ day. If people are not going to say something nice, they shouldn’t say it at all. Also, I feel that joking around with someone is completely okay, just as long as the other person knows it’s a joke. In the past, people were not as mean as they are today. I feel that we handled things much better before than in this generation. In the past, people were much nicer to each other, and never attempted to hurt one another like today.

I think that bullying is a really bad thing. Some people have even killed themselfs. In sixth grade I was bullyed on the bus in the morning and in the afternoon. I didnt submit it in the media centr because I didnt know about it. Some people think that bullying is funny. What if they were the victim, they wouldnt be laughing if got bullied that much. 30% of studenth sixth -tenth grade are involved in bullying. IT shouldnt happen to anyone. People do it

I think that bullying is one of the worst ways to hurt another person. The things that happen sometimes leave me shocked and speechless. The story about the boy at Deerfield Middle School that was sprayed with alcohol and burned because of a video game incident was a devastating thing to happen to any human being or family member of that person. Sometimes being in middle school we may judge people and think we are playing around. But deep down we may really be hurting that person we are making fun of. Lately I have tried to stop myself and people I see making fun of people for fun or just because they want to. I mean I wouldn’t want to be listening to the news one day and find out that a person committed suicide maybe because of something I said or something I know has been going on. So thankfully these stories of things that has been happening has given some of us a wake up call.

After reading and watching videos and hearing Mrs. Elkin’s speech about bullying I thought to my self “hey maybe i have been a bully and not even realized it.” As more and more cases come out about teens that have taken there lives because of a person bullying them just terrifies me. While teachers and others try to stop bullying at school a lot of it happens on “Facebook” and many other types of cyber bullying. In my opinion everyone is somehow a bully even if they say there not. Just by talking about someone behind there back is just wrong and now considered bullying, even if its just a joke its still considered bullying. Although i do admit i have been a bully because i have been mean to certain people i know it’s bad. Just because someone thinks differently isn’t a reason to pick on them. Bully’s usually have high self esteem so they think there better then everyone so they decide to pick on others that can’t defend there selves because there “shy” or just never speak up. Bullying needs to come to a stop before it gets even worse. Before, if i saw a situation of bullying i would just move along like if i didn’t see anything. Now if i see it i’ll just think about the ways i can change to be better and just tell and adult or something.

I watched the videos and heard Mrs. Elkin also told a story about a very horrific bullying incident. I think that bullying is a crime and should be ended. Nowadays, schools have no toleration on bullying and children can get expelled from their schools. Some cases even involve criminal charges put on the bully or bully’s record. These charges can ruin a childs chance of going to a decent college and getting a decent job.
Teasing, gossip, physical or mental harrassment are a few different types of bullying. Some people are not aware they are bullying someone yet some people bully others because they are jelous of them or they have a troubling childhood and they want to take their anger out on someone.
After viewing some of the videos, I think that cyber bullying is probably done a lot. I think that the text sent to the Wayne by Kayla was hurtful and cruel. If someone has lost a loved one, it is not right to tease them about it. Although Wayne did overreact a bit, I think Kayla is guilty.

Bullying is a huge tragedy to students in school. It changes the victims’ life in school. Bullying is mostly caused by feeling insecure about themselves, havng family problems, and not getting enough love and attention. What Wayne did to Kayla was obviously not a smart thing to do. It was understandable why he was mad but he shouldn’t have attacked Kayla because this badly affected his and her life. This shows you that bullying is more of a serious problem than it originally was. I hope in the future that the bullying problem is solved and significantly decreases in school.

This is why bullying should never be acceptable, when you hurt someone so much that they almost kill you, its gone beyond the limit. I have experienced bullying and its not fun. If i were in that situation then i would have been extremely nerves and scared. if everyone stopped bullying then school would be a lot more comfortable. also there would be a lot less misunderstandings and we wouldn’t have to hide our real selfs

I don’t get why you would wont to bully some one .Its wrong and why would some one wont to be mean to some one you peroble don’t even no. But some times they don’t even no their bullying others.Still that does not mean you should be mean to other. Some bully others becuase of home problems and they think that hurting others will solve their problems.But it just ceases others pain.Also it may lead to other problems; that I don’t wont to think about. And its a good thing that they have laws for them or their may be more fights at school and out of school.

Mrs.Elkin’s visit and the videos really opened my eyes to how serious bullying is. People Magazine donated a whole front cover and article to teen bullying, and how people are taking their lifes over getting made fun of. Nobody should get treated for being different, because if you look around you, no one is the same. Bullying should have serious consequences, but not for things like joking around with friends. They shouldn’t be paying attention to that, they should be paying attention to the real bullies.

I believe that bullying is wrong and I just think how disgusting it is that a best friend would just hop on a bus and not even care about how the girl would end up, that is just plain cruelty. The boy I think was upset by what she said about him going to see his dead brother which made me go nuts because what would make you say that. The boy looks like a nice kid, but what that girl did to him made him look like an animal locked in a cage. I have been bullied by name teasing and getting threatened by people but even this example is not as horrible as a girl learning how to now say the alphabet In my opinion bullying is just cruel. I think kids will handle stuff better now because of this video clip. I also think this won’t happen again because people are now mature and know that bullying is not right.

I personally think that bullying is a serious matter but it shouldn’t be as serious as suicide. I believe that there should be law fighting against bullying but some law are over reacting to charge a kid with a felony.

After watching these videos you really realize how one comment or text can change someone’s life. Computers and phones are the main reason most of this bullying is happening and in most of these videos that is what the main cause is. I think it is amazing how one word you say can can turn into such a problem and the bad thing is that some kids resort to suicide instead of telling someone of the problem. I think that teachers need to take more action and help with the bullying problems. It is good that guidance counselors like Mrs. Elkin are informing kids how dangerous texting and social networks like Facebook and MySpace are and how something you say can’t be deleted ever, even if you erase it or remove it from the website. I am glad there are some new laws that are protecting kids from bullying. It needs to stop or it is just going to get worse and you will hear more and more stories just like what happened Phoebe Prince and Josie Ratley.

Bullying should not be tolerated and it is wrong. It sometimes make the person you are bullying do things like taking drugs or cutting themselfs. It can get more serious then that for example committing suicide. The people who bully think they have power and can do what ever they want. It just needs to stop. Mrs. Elkin said that mostly girls bully and thats true they call eachother names ,start rumors , and are just plain mean to eachother . Boys just like to fight but that still isn’t right. Bullying is against the law though. I see bullying everyday and it’s uncomfortable watching it . I can tell the person feels humiliated and upset . I don’t do anything about it because I just don’t like getting invovled. There wouldn’t be that much I can do to help either. I think the schools handle bullying and harassment better now than in the past. Schools in other county’s should have talks about bullying .

I think bullying is a serious issue that distroys kids self asteme. It shouldnt be tollerated at all. Bullying is a terrible thing people do to let out anger. People think its not that bad to bully someone but it can lead to a terrible death and hurt. Its awfull how kids, adults, teachers, etc get bullied or are the bullies, they shouldnt deal with thier problems on other people, they should talk to someone. I for one think its a sad thing to be bullied. People should learn how to deal with there problems and talk about it amoung other people.

Bulling is a serious case to wich people want to hurt themselfs. The pain and hurt that people go through shouldnt be exceptable. I have been teased before a harmless joke but yet to others it can lead to a serious death and hurt. It doesnt feel good being teased or made fun of so if your the bully think if you were in there position, Would u like it haveing someone tease you and make you feel like someone just put a hole in your heart? Well i wouldnt, my advise is to think before you do or say because once those hatered words come out of your mouth you can never take them back. im sorry for those who have been bullied and i hope it doesnt happen again. If you see someone being bullied or your being bullied, you should talk to someone before its to late.

I believe that bulling is
wrong and should not be tolerated with. Bulling can be taken to the far that it causes the person to want to do things like drugs, cut themself or even death. I have neever been bulled but I have seen my friends get bulled. Whenever I see someone bulling on of my friends I stand up for then and. I was never just stand there and watch someone baet up or bully one of my friends. I feel sorry for those people who took there own life away cause they were being bullied. I also feel bad for people like the girl that got beat up because the guy thought she was the one who send the txt messege. She didnt do anythting but she got beat up for it.

Bully is constantly happening everywhere. Not just at school but at work too. It’s gotten so out of hand we now have to put laws up to stop it. Some point in your life you’ve been bullied or made fun of. 30% of students in 6-10th grade our bullied. We may not know why they get bullied or why the person causing it does bully. But we know its wrong and how to stop it. One quick call to a hotline or a talk with your parents or teacher can stop it. Now if your afraid to come forward and tell, don’t be because if you don’t tell, It will only get worse. What i’m trying to say is bullying is 100% preventable, and don’t think the person(The person Bullying) is better then you in any way.

I think bullying is a very bad thing to do, but people still do it. Some people even die becuase of bullying. The reason people kill themselfs over bullying is beause the bully’s take it to far. We all see people being bullied and some of us do nothing, to stop bullying you have to say something or do something.
It is not fun being bullied trust me none of us want to be bullied so if your a bully stop it right now, before something BAD happens.

In my opinion, bullying has become a bigger issue as time progresses and will keep growing if we dont take action immediately. Unfortunately students observing bullying or being bullied are afraid to come foward and report this appalling behavior. It is hard to watch innocent children take their lives because of preventable behavior. Bullies should be ashamed of themselves for acting with this horrific behavior.

Bullying is something that is stupid but serious at the same time. Teens or Adults that do it aren’t actually thinking of the consequences of bullying because they’re probaly not even thinking about the persons feelings. Bullying has never happened to me and I sure hope not. I’ve seen kids get bullyed but it wasn’t as serious as most cases are, & when I see people get bullyed I defend them or sometimes walk away, but thats wrong so I avoid doing that. Teens & people that bully need to learn how to grow up because its a serious matter.

The bullying this girl faced was horrible. No bestfriend should ever be taking another persons phone without asking , or without telling the person what they are typing. Seeing Josie so beaten up , makes me feel really bad for her. She gets constent head aches , doesnt know whats going on , who these people are,it’s really sad.The ” best friend ” acts like nothing really bad happend , and she gives Josie no sympothy what so ever. Criminal charges should be inact , especially cause its been over 6 months.
